Lake Wobegon & Soo Line Bike Trail
The Lake Wobegon Regional Trail is one of Minnesota’s most famous bike trails. Named after renowned author, Garrison Keillor and his novel 'Lake Wobegon Days', the trail runs right through Albany. The entire trail totals 65 miles, 10 feet wide and paved end to end, waiting for you to explore on foot, by bike, rollerblade or snowmobile.

The Soo Line Trail starts in Albany and runs over 130 miles to Superior, Wisconsin. The trail is paved for hiking, biking and snowmobiling up to the Royalton area. After crossing Highway 10, the trail becomes a dirt path for ATVs, horseback riding, and snowmobiles. 
Albany Golf Course & Toptracer Golf
Albany Golf Club is a beautiful 18-hole Par 72 golf course with tree lined fairways and rolling hills built against the backdrop of the City of Albany.  The golf club also recently received a huge renovation to offer beautiful indoor/outdoor seating. and host events.

Albany’s state-of-the-art Toptracer range has twelve stations in a three-sided infrared heated structure that can be used year around. 
Parks & Splash Pad
The City of Albany is enriched with six different parks and offer diverse recreational opportunities for all ages.  North Park is the City's largest park at approximately 56 acres and is located on the north side of Albany, bordering North Lake. The park provides numerous activities such as:

  • - Softball field, tennis, basketball, and six pickleball courts

Community & Entertainment Center
Albany Area Schools offer the Blattner Energy Community Center (BECC), which includes a weight room, indoor walking track and basketball, volleyball, or pickleball courts for the public to use for a small fee.

Blattner Energy Arts Theater (BEAT) is an 800-seat performing arts center. BEAT 
is part of the Albany Area Schools system and hosts a variety of events, including the BEAT Series, presented by Albany Community Education. 
Pool
Albany Area Schools offers swim lessons and open swim to the public throughout the year. Contact the Community Education office for more information. 
Area Lakes
With over 120 lakes in Stearns County alone, you will have plenty of opportunities to go boating, swimming and fishing within a short drive of Albany.  There is also a public city beach a couple miles away on Middle Spunk Lake
in Avon for everyone to enjoy! 
Bowling
The Albany Bowling Center offers 12 lanes of bowling, fun arcade games, food, and drinks for family and friends to enjoy.
Winter Activities
Albany has a number of winter activities for everyone to enjoy, including ice skating and hockey rinks at
Albany Lion's Park Shelter on 6th Street with a Warming House and free ice skates available. The rinks are usually open by the end of December through mid-February. 

​Lake Wobegon & Soo Line Trails are open for snowmobiles in the winter for over a combined 140 miles of riding. 

The Albany Golf Club usually has cross-country and snowshoe trails available for you to use throughout the winter.   

The Albany Area High School is known for its sledding hill after a nice snow fall, as well. 

​Ice fishing is a huge Minnesota pastime in the winter at one of the many surrounding lakes in the area.
